Nutribullet

TL;DR I’m using Nutribullet to make smoothies, and it’s awesome!

Reviewing blenders is new to me, because I never had one. But somehow Nutribullet got into my head (podcasts), and I finally got one.

So far it’s been fantastic! The smoothies are better than any smoothies you can buy.

And there’re so many things to make them with… Blueberries. Carrots. Celery. Almond butter. Oats. Sage. Avocados. Cashews. Mangos. Ice. Protein whey. Protein whey, Carl!

It’s frighteningly powerful in a good way, and surprisingly easy to wash. Imagine washing a mug and a knife — and that’s it, literally rinses clean in ten seconds.

It’s also very compact for a blender, and can be kept on the bench or stored away in the cupboard. It’s absolutely easy to use and grinds up pretty much anything in a flash.

Good stuff.

Emoji Mac shortcut, LLOP emoji, Unicode 7.0 emoji list and Symbola font

You might see “broken” images in this post, and this is totally explainable. I’m using symbols that are not yet included into standard fonts on most devices for testing purposes. It’s all good.

This is my little cheatsheet for emoji stuff: opening Mac emoji keyboard, pasting hidden emoji and viewing Unicode 7.0 emoji.

IFTTT - About IFTTT

Automatic connection of webapps with IFTTT

Aren’t you using ifttt yet? It’s awesome and you should! It is kind of connector for social tools and information networks. It lets you to integrate between themselves online events from various internet channels with the if that… then this logic.

You can create recipes, manage recipes, and take a look at your feed to see how your recipes are working. You can also browse new recipes created by other users.

Channels are the basic building blocks of IFTTT. Each channel has its own triggers and actions. The this part of a recipe is a trigger. Some example triggers are “I’m tagged in a photo on Facebook” or “I check in on Foursquare.” The that part of a recipe is an action. Some example actions are “send me a text message” or “create a status message on Facebook.”

Pieces of data from a trigger are called ingredients. For example, the ingredients of an email trigger could be: subject, body, attachment, received date, and the sender’s address. Personal Recipes are a combination of a Trigger and an Action from your active Channels. Personal Recipes look like this:

IFTTT connecting Instagram to Dropbox

Personal Recipes can be turned on and off. When turned back on, they pick up as if you had just created them.
Polling Period. Personal Recipes check for new Trigger data every 15 minutes. Some Recipes have “Quick Triggers” that will run as soon as they receive Trigger data. Quick Triggers can be identified by a lightning bolt icon.

Since July 2013 with a release of an iPhone version of the app also, it allows deep iOS integration and iOS-specific channels (iPhoto, Contacts, Note etc.)

Here is a couple of recipes I’m currently using: “if I post an Instagram, then export this photo to Flickr and add a tag #instagram”. And “if a someone posts a public Zootool link, then save it to my own Del.icio.us stream”. Or “if there is a new file uploaded to my Dropbox, then send me an email with it’s name, URL and date of modification”.

Would you like to save favorite Tweets in a single Evernote or Dropbox? Get a Boxcar notification if it’s going to rain tomorrow? Get an SMS when your favorite team is winning? Yes, all of this can be done!

Сonclusion: IFTTT is awesome. Use it to your advantage and share your recipes with me!
